Carol Canfield

Carol S. Canfield passed away on November 29, 2016 after a brief illness in Cold Spring, New York. She was the loving wife of Robert Canfield for 36 Years.

Carol was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and moved to New York in her late 20s. She enjoyed a highly successful career as an investment banker, specializing in airport finance. Over her career she held positions at First Boston, Paine Webber, and retired from UBS. Following her retirement, Carol immersed herself in the community of Cold Spring, very much enjoying local landmarks like Boscobel and the Constitution Island, and relishing her book club self-titled The Book Babes. She was an animal lover and raised 6 Schnauzers over 36 years. She spent many hours at Hudson Valley Hospital with Fredo and Sammy, both trained therapy dogs, bringing smiles and comfort to anyone who asked.

Carol approached everything she did with great energy, laughter, and enthusiasm. Her robust love of life will be greatly missed. Carol leaves behind her loving husband, Bob; step-children Stephen Canfield (Mark Banco), Sara (Scott) Carpenter, and Thomas (Susan) Canfield; step-sister Valerie (Ron) Nagy and brother Denis (Marcia) Cornell; 6 grandchildren and 4 nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by step-sister Jackie (Sy) Serafin.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2016 at 1:30 pm at The First Presbyterian Church of Philpstown (10 Academy St; Cold Spring, NY, 10516), followed by a reception at The Garrison (located on US 9 in Garrison, NY; if using GPS: 1 Snake Hill Rd, Garrison, NY 10524).
