Col. Richard Gagne

September 24, 1933 — October 25, 2018

Col. Richard Gagne of Cold Spring passed away on October 25, 2018 at the New York State Veterans Home.  He was 85.

Born on September 24, 1933 in Queens, New York to the late Alfred and Amanda Boulay Gagne

Richard was a Career Air Force Veteran serving 29 years.  He enlisted into the Air Force in 1951 and  served his country during Vietnam.  He rose to the rank of Colonel while receiving 2 Bronze Service Stars. He served in many different assignments including Bangkok and the Philippines.  In 1980 he retired from the United States Air Force from McGuire Air Force Base and moved to Putnam Valley where he lived until moving to Cold Spring in 2012.

HE was a member of Our Lady of Loretto Church in Cold Spring.

Col. Richard is survived by his devoted wife of 65 Years Marlene, Loving Children Douglas P. Gagne of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jeffery T. Gagne and his wife Tina of Bel Air, Maryland, Richard P. Gagne and his wife Michelle of Watertown, New York and Patrick T. Gagne and his wife Beth of Mahopac, New York.  Cherished grandchildren Chrystal Gagne, Tammy White, Linda, Catherine Dominque and Patrick Jr Gagne.

His loving sister Irene Ashbahian and her husband Harry.

He was predeceased by his Sister Janet DeFeo and his brother Alfred Gagne.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday October 30, 2018 at 11am at Our Lady of Loretto Church, 24 Fair Street, Cold Spring.  Interment with military honors will follow in Cold Spring Cemetery.
