EDWARD JOSEPH McCORMICK, 92, died January 20, 2025 (on his birthday) in Palmyra, PA. He grew up in Nelsonville, NY, He received his degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and later served in the United States Army. As an employee at General Precision Labs in Pleasantville, NY, One of the many projects he worked on was the Lunar Excursion Module (LEM) for the space program. In 1969 Edward and Magdalena (Maggie) Feiler were Wed.
In 1972 He joined The Raymond Corporation in Greene, NY, as a Mechanical Engineer. He held many patents for fork lift truck components including their Transtacker and Reach Trucks. In 1998, he retired to Wilmington, NC, where he spent many years restoring a 1933 DeSoto and enjoying the sun and heat.
He was predeceased by his son Edward Joseph McCormick in January of 1997.
He is survived by his wife, Maggie and daughter, Joyce McCormick and her husband Bruce Smith of Pennsylvania. Also by his sister-in-law, Pamela Bucko and nephew Donald Bucko of New York, and many cousins from across the country.
Edward was taken into care at the Clinton Funeral Home in Cold Spring, NY. He will be buried in the Cold Spring Cemetery on January 25th at Noon with Military Honors.
