Ernest Piermarini

Ernest Joseph Piermarini of Cold Spring passed away peacefully on November 21, 2018 .  He was 74.

Born on April 18, 1944 in Newark, NJ to the late Pietro and Mary Rossi Piermarini.  Ernest graduated from Summit High School, earned his Bachelor’s of Science from Monmouth University and his Master of Arts and Doctorate in Education degrees from Seton Hall University.  Ernest was a retired Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources for the Lakeland Central School District and an Adjunct Professor in the School of Education at St. Thomas Aquinas College.  He also served as Director of Occupational Studies and Assistant to the Superintendent at for Lakeland, Director of the Teacher’s Center at SUNY Purchase, and a business education teacher and administrator at Walter Panas High School. He was instrumental to initiating the Lakeland Education Foundation, which supportseducation programs and initiatives when budgetary resources are not available. He was a passionate teacher and advocate of education. His performance as a teacher and professionalism and dedication as an administrator were recognized by several awards, including the Clinton A. Reed Award and Westchester Country Business Education Association Teacher of the Year. In leisure, he enjoyed following baseball, watching movies and theatrical performances, reading books and newspapers, and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years Linda Piermarini, loving sons Peter Piermarini (married to Laura Sirot) of Wooster Ohio and Craig Piermarini (married to Michelle Piermarini) of Wakefield, RI, and cherished grandchildren Carson and Blake Piermarini.

Friends may call on Tuesday November 27, 2018 from 4-7pm at Clinton Funeral Home 21 Parrott Street. Cold Spring.  Funeral Services will be private.
