Gerald Dempsey

Gerry Dempsey spent his early years in Throgs Neck NY. Imagine his excitement when he got the news they were moving to a ranch in Yorktown Heights. Though disappointed by the ranch reality he adjusted to riding a bike instead of a horse. At Yorktown High his language ability was discovered by Mr. Guisti. He went on to earn a degree in linguistics from Georgetown University and a PhD, from City University of New York.

After years in the writing and translation business he transitioned to full time writing. 

2020 brought a move from New York City back to the Hudson Valley where he became active in local historic societies.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Marie Carley and his sisters Diane Dempsey of Houston, Texas and Mary Dempsey of Poughkeepsie, NY.
