Lola Moore Cobb passed away on the morning of Sunday, January 7th, 2024 at Danbury Hospital in Danbury Connecticut.
Lola was born on March 10th, 1937, to William Earl Moore and Leola M Moore in Rhinebeck NY. Lola grew up in near by Red Hook NY. After graduating from Red Hook high school, she attended Vassar Brothers hospital school of nursing in Poughkeepsie NY. She graduated salutatorian of her class in 1957 as a Registered Nurse.
Lola had always known she wanted to be an RN, specializing in labor and delivery of the expecting mother. Lola took the greatest of pride in helping the laboring mother with the difficulties of child birth. Lola’s greatest achievement was to maintain her Registered Nurse’s license into her mid seventies.
Lola enjoyed many, many pursuits beyond nursing. A devout Christian, her faith in God, and commitment to her church would always come first.
A extremely avid sports fan, Lola remained a huge New York Mets fan through all of their years of being both a winning and loosing baseball team. She would always love her, at times, ‘not so amazing’ Mets.
Playing piano, and bridge, riding her bicycle, and growing the healthiest of indoor plants were just some of Lola’s other pursuits. She would perform these, and all of her other many interests in life with the same love and commitment she gave to her professional nursing career.
Lola lived most of her life in Cold Spring NY. Raising her two sons, John and Ted in that beautiful, quaint town. Some of Lola’s later years found her living in Bel Air Maryland, before moving in 2020 to reside at Ridgefield Station Adult Living in Ridgefield CT. Lola was a beloved member her Ridgefield station community, leaving everyone that knew her shocked and saddened by her sudden passing.
Lola is survived by her aforementioned two sons, and four grandchildren. Her ashes will be buried at Wurtemburg cemetery at her beloved parents plot, with a portion of her to be scattered at her favorite place on earth, Long Lake NY. in the heart of the Adirondack mountains.
Lola will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
