Rose Champlin

June 22, 1931 — October 19, 2020

Rose Champlin of Cold Spring passed away peacefully on October 19, 2020 at home.  She was 89.
Rose was a Medical Transcriptionist at Butterfield Memorial Hospital and went on to be a confidential secretary for Putnam County prior to retiring.

She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Philipstown for over 60 years, where she sang in the choir and participated in many of the church activities and outreach programs.

She enjoyed gardening and the First Presbyterian Church of Philipstown named their garden in Rose's honor.  In addition to gardening, Rose enjoyed music and concerts, and she coordinated many of the Philipstown Concerts at the church for over 30 years.

Rose is survived by her Loving Children Karen Chiappini, Dale Meck and her husband David, Cherished Grandchildren Mike Meck and his wife Catie, Matt Meck and Chris Chiappini, her Dear Cousin Eileen Siegel, her Brother-in-Law Ray and his wife Anne Champlin, nephew Jon Champlin and grand-nephews Michael and Matthew Champlin.  The family would also like to thank her loving caregiver  Paula Campbell for the care she gave Rose.

Rose was predeceased by her husband Norman Champlin, cousin Shirley Grebeldinger and her grandson Robbie VanDongen.

Funeral Services will be private with burial in Cold Spring Cemetery next to her beloved husband.

In lieu of flowers please make donations in Rose's memory to First Presbyterian Church of Philipstown.
