Stephen (“Steve”) Barry Boston passed away at the age of 58 on Friday, November 19, 2021 at his home in New Milford, Connecticut. Stephen was born in Brooklyn, New York on February 21, 1963 to Francis (“Frank”) Joseph and Yvonne Carole Boston.
Stephen, the third of four children, grew up in Cold Spring, New York after the family moved from Brooklyn in 1972. He was a talented cook, and enjoyed showing off his skills regularly for family and friends. Large family holiday gatherings were his favorite. Stephen had a heart of gold, and always tried to think about others. If he could, he would have given the shirt off his back if you were in need.
Stephen had an interesting career, described as a Senior Technology Executive. His career spanned IT, operations, business strategy, process improvement, program management and sustainability. He has been a leader at IBM and at Computer Associates; later working as a consultant. In addition, Stephen was an influential industry spokesperson, published author, speaker, and thought leader. He has developed and filed over 50 patents in a wide array of technology areas.
Stephen is survived by his mother, Yvonne; siblings Francis (“Frank”) K Boston and Colleen P (Boston) Gerstenberger; nephews Dale and Lee Gerstenberger and Christopher, Adam, and Nicholas Boston; and fiancée Patricia Adams. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank; and sister, Tammy Jeanne Boston.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00pm, Tuesday, November 23 2021 at Clinton Funeral Home, 21 Parrott Street, Cold Spring, New York. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday November 26, 2021 at 1pm at Our Lady of Loretto Church, 24 Fair Street, Cold Spring. Interment will follow at Cold Spring Cemetery on Peekskill Road, Cold Spring, NY.
